Apple Kuchen Coffee Cake

Revive your senses with a homemade apple coffee cake.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1 large cooking apple, peeled and thinly sliced (1 1/2 cups)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease the bottom and sides of a 9x2-inch springform pan or a 9x1 1/2-inch round pan with shortening.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup sugar, butter, and egg using an electric mixer on low speed for about 30 seconds until smooth. Stir in Bisquick. Spread the batter evenly over the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
  • Combine the yogurt and egg in a small bowl until smooth. Add apple and spoon over the batter in the pan. Mix 1/4 cup sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over the apple mixture.
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until the center sets and the crust turns a deep golden brown. Let it cool for 10 minutes, then remove the pan's side and serve warm.
