Cozy apple pastry with flaky puff pastry and vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 6 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup chopped dried mixed fruit
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, water, and flour until smooth. Add apples, pecans, and dried fruit, toss until well coated. Pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Cut puff pastry into 10 one-inch strips; lay 5 strips lengthwise and the remaining 5 strips in half. Place the smaller strips widthwise to create a lattice. Combine white sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the lattice.
  • Bake in the oven until the apple mixture bubbles and the lattice turns golden brown, about 40-45 minutes.
