Ingredients:
  • 185g soft butter
  • 36.00 gm sugar, extra
  • 112.50 gm icing sugar, to sprinkle
  • 2 eggs
  • 375.00 ml plain flour
  • 2.50 gm ground cinnamon
  • 2.50 gm mixed spice
  • 910g canned pie apple
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C.
  • Blend together the butter and sugar until creamy. Next, add the eggs one at a time, making sure to beat well after each addition.
  • Incorporate sifted flour and spices. Evenly layer half of the mixture in the prepared tin, top it with apple slices, sprinkle with extra sugar, and finish by spreading the remaining mixture over the top.
  • Bake in the oven until light golden for about 45 minutes. Let it rest in the tin for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool. Dust with icing sugar and slice before serving.
