Cherished Cheerios® pancakes with a surprise twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Apple Cinnamon Cheerios™ cereal
  • 3/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup chunky applesauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • Maple-flavored syrup
Instructions:
  • Preheat griddle or 12-inch skillet over gentle heat until it reaches 325°F.
  • Put the cereal in a resealable bag and crush it with a rolling pin. Transfer the crushed cereal to a large bowl and mix in all ingredients except the syrup until just moistened.
  • Pour generous 1/4 cupfuls of batter onto a hot griddle for each pancake. Cook for 2 minutes until edges are cooked and bubbles burst on the surface. Flip and cook the other side for about 2 more minutes until golden brown. Serve with syrup.
