Easy whole roasted turkey with apple stuffing - stress-free holiday cooking with just 3 ingredients, no basting needed.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 pound) whole turkey - thawed, neck and giblets removed
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil, or as needed
  • 5 apples, cored and quartered
  • 5 pounds whole unpeeled apples
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Ensure the turkey's legs are unbound. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels. Place the turkey in a lidded roasting pan and generously rub oil over the entire turkey. Fill the body and neck cavities with apple quarters; place whole apples around the turkey. Add any remaining apple quarters to the pan, then cover it.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until the skin is golden brown and the meat starts to pull away from the legs. Uncover in the final 20 minutes for extra browning. Optional: use the delicious pan drippings for gravy.
