Prepare Asian-style meatball wraps for a deliciously unique dinner!
Ingredients:
  • 500g pork mince
  • 4 shallots, ends trimmed, thinly sliced
  • 5 water chestnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 62.50 ml chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 31.80 gm soy sauce
  • 36.60 gm oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • 40g (1/4 cup) plain flour
  • 9.20 gm peanut oil
  • Steamed white rice, to serve
  • Steamed Asian greens, to serve
  • 250ml (1 cup) chicken style liquid stock
  • 5.00 gm cornflour
Instructions:
  • Mix together the mince, shallot, water chestnut, garlic, coriander, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and egg in a bowl. Roll 1 tablespoon of the mixture into a ball and place on a plate. Repeat with the rest of the mixture.
  • Spread the flour generously on a plate. Sprinkle with fresh ground pepper. Gently coat the meatballs in the seasoned flour mixture.
  • Preheat oven to 180°C. In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, sizzle half of the meatballs in half of the peanut oil until nicely browned for about 4 minutes. Place them in a 2L (8-cup) baking dish. Repeat the process with the other half of the meatballs in the remaining oil.
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, mix the stock, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornflour together. Microwave on High for 1 minute, stirring halfway through.
  • Drizzle the flavorful sauce over the succulent meatballs, then bake them in the oven until perfectly cooked, usually around 30 minutes.
  • Scoop a generous portion of rice and greens into each serving bowl, then pile on the flavorful meatballs and sauce. Enjoy!
