Recreate a popular restaurant-style chicken dish with chicken breasts smothered in a savory honey-mustard sauce, topped with mushrooms, bacon, and gooey cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded to 1/2 inch thickness
  • 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 6 slices bacon, cut in half
  • 0.5 cup prepared yellow mustard
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 2 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Massage the chicken breasts with the flavorful seasoning salt, then chill covered in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while you crisp up the bacon in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Set the cooked bacon aside for later.
  • Mix together the mustard, honey, corn syrup, mayonnaise, and dried onion flakes in a medium bowl. Set aside half of the sauce for later, cover it, and refrigerate.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Saute the breasts for 3 to 5 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread honey mustard sauce on each breast, top with mushrooms and bacon, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  • Place in a hot oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is gooey and the chicken juices are clear. Top with fresh parsley and enjoy with the remaining honey mustard sauce.
