A must-have teacake recipe with airy texture, apple accents, and decadent butter glaze. Simply divine for all bakers!
Ingredients:
  • 80g unsalted butter, chopped, at room temperature
  • 100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • 225g (1 1/2 cups) self-raising flour
  • 2 small pink lady apples, peeled, cored, coarsely grated
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) milk
  • 20.00 gm caster sugar
  • 1.25 gm ground cinnamon
  • 20g unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan forced. Grease and line a 20cm round cake pan.
  • Beat butter and sugar until pale and creamy using electric beaters. Mix in egg and vanilla until well combined. Fold in flour, apple, and milk with a large metal spoon until fully incorporated. Transfer the mixture into the lined pan and bake for 40 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean when inserted into the center. Let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes before serving.
  • While you wait, prepare the glaze by mixing the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Drizzle the melted butter all over the warm cake and generously sprinkle with the sugar mixture.
