Thai-inspired grilled flank steak salad with romaine, fresh herbs, and zesty lime dressing.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 (1 1/2-pound) flank steak
  • 0.25 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chile-garlic sauce (such as Sriracha®)
  • 2 heads romaine lettuce
  • 0.33333334326744 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 0.33333334326744 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 0.33333334326744 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
Instructions:
  • Prepare the outdoor grill by heating it to medium-high heat and lightly oiling the grate. Season the flank steak with salt and pepper.
  • Grill steak to your liking, about 5 to 6 minutes on each side, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reads 140°F (60°C).
  • Combine lime juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, fish sauce, garlic, and chile-garlic sauce in a bowl and whisk until well incorporated.
  • Combine romaine lettuce, fresh mint, cilantro, and basil in a bowl. Drizzle 6 tablespoons of lime juice mixture over the greens. Toss everything together until evenly coated.
  • Slice the steak into strips and coat them in the rest of the lime juice mixture for a quick 1 to 2 minute marinade. Arrange the steak over the romaine mixture.
