Baby's Bib Cake

Celebrate with a cute and delicious mini cake perfect for birthdays!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix (or your favorite flavor)
  • 2 tubs (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Red food color
  • Blue food color
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and follow package instructions to make, bake, and cool cake in two 8-inch or 9-inch rounds.
  • Set aside 1 cup of frosting for decoration. Begin by positioning one cake layer with the rounded side down on a serving plate. Spread approximately 1/3 cup of frosting on top. Stack the second layer with the rounded side up. Proceed to frost the sides and top of the cake with the rest of the frosting. For added decoration, create vertical lines on the cake's side using a decorating comb or the tines of a fork, if desired.
  • Color 2/3 cup of the reserved frosting a lovely pink by mixing in 1 or 2 drops of red food coloring. Transfer the pink frosting into a decorating bag with a small writing tip #2. Pipe 2 circles around the outer top edge of the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart and leaving a 3-inch opening at the top. Create a beautiful loop design inside the circles.
  • Color the remaining 1/3 cup frosting blue using 1 or 2 drops of blue food color. Transfer the blue frosting into a decorating bag with writing tip #5. Start by piping the outer border of the bib. Next, pipe the inner opening of the bib making it about 3 inches in diameter and connect the circles with a tie at the top. Create small bows on the bib and write your desired message inside the bib opening. Optionally, use the remaining pink frosting to pipe dots between the bows. Store the decorated bib cake loosely covered.
