Exciting gender reveal cake with hidden pink or blue filling to announce the baby's sex in a playful and tasty way!
Ingredients:
  • 2 boxes Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix (or your favorite flavor)
  • Water, vegetable oil and whole eggs called for on cake mix boxes
  • 2 tubs (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • 2 cups pink or blue M&M's® candy-coated milk chocolate candies
  • 1/4 cup pink or blue M&M's® minis candy-coated milk chocolate candies
  • 3/4 cup assorted pink or blue candy sprinkles
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and spray 2 (8-inch) round cake pans with cooking spray. Line with parchment paper. In a large bowl, mix 1 box of cake mix and ingredients according to package directions with an electric mixer for 2 minutes. Divide batter between pans and bake as directed. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans, discard parchment paper, and fully cool for about 1 hour. Repeat process with the second box of cake mix to create 2 more layers.
  • Trim the rounded tops off the cake layers to flatten them. For 2 layers, use a 4-inch round cutter to cut a small round out of the center.
  • Assemble the cake by placing one whole cake layer on a cake stand or serving platter, spreading 1/3 cup of frosting on top. Add a layer with the center removed, spreading another 1/3 cup of frosting on top. Finish with the final layer with the center removed, spreading the remaining 1/3 cup of frosting on top.
  • Combine chocolate candies and sprinkles in a small bowl. Fill the cake with the candy mixture, gently pressing the candies to create an even layer. Top with the remaining cake layer and frost the sides and top of the cake with the remaining frosting. Store the cake loosely covered.
