Try a stunning baby shower cake using Betty Crocker® cake mix, frosting, and decorations for a decadent treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Blue and red food colors from 1 box (2.7 oz) Betty Crocker™ classic gel food colors
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ Easy Flow decorating icing (any colors)
  • Betty Crocker™ Decorating Decors (any shape)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and generously grease the bottoms of two 8-inch square pans with shortening or cooking spray.
  • Prepare the cake batter according to the instructions on the box, but enhance it by incorporating almond extract when adding the water. Divide the batter into two equal parts. Mix 2 drops of blue food coloring into the first half and 2 drops of red food coloring into the second half. Pour the colored batters into pans and bake in 8-inch pans following the box directions. Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes, then gently run a knife around the edges to release them from the pans onto a cooling rack. Let the cakes cool completely for about 1 hour.
  • Begin by carefully positioning one of the cake layers on a beautiful serving plate, generously spreading 1/2 cup of luscious white frosting over it. Next, delicately place the second cake layer on top, with the bottom side facing downwards. Proceed to smoothly cover the sides and the top of the cake with frosting. Get creative and decorate the cake to resemble a charming baby block using decorating icing and delightful decors. To preserve its freshness, store the cake in a loosely covered manner at room temperature.
