Baby Rattle Cupcakes

Create adorable baby rattle cupcakes for a sweet and simple baby shower treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix (or your favorite flavor)
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting or 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Creamy White Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ yellow and green decorating icings (from 4.25-oz tubes)
  • Betty Crocker™ candy sprinkles and decors, if desired
  • 8 yards pastel satin or curling ribbon (1/4 inch), if desired
  • 24 paper lollipop sticks (4 1/2 inch)
  • 24 small gumdrops
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups. Prepare cake mix as instructed on the box for 24 cupcakes. Allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack and cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Spread a smooth layer of creamy vanilla frosting on top of the cupcakes. Use yellow and green icings to create decorative designs by piping them on top. Complete the cupcakes by adding a sprinkle of colorful candy sprinkles for additional flair.
  • Poke a hole in the side of each cupcake using a toothpick. Tie a ribbon bow in the center of each lollipop stick and add a gumdrop to one end. Insert the other end of the sticks into the sides of the cupcakes just below the frosting to create rattles. Store the cupcakes loosely covered.
