Indulgent chocolate cake with luscious buttercream frosting - ideal for birthdays and special occasions, guaranteed to wow.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 5.3333334922791 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.66666668653488 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  • Combine sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl, mixing until well combined.
  • Combine eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla in a bowl and mix using an electric mixer for 3 minutes. Gently stir in boiling water by hand.
  • Divide the mixture evenly among the pans.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to cool completely.
  • After cakes have cooled, prepare the frosting. Use an electric mixer to whip the butter until it is fluffy. Gradually mix in confectioners' sugar and cocoa, alternating with milk and vanilla, until a smooth and spreadable consistency is achieved.
  • Carefully separate the layers of the chilled cake, generously frost the top of each layer, and assemble them on a serving plate.
  • Spread the leftover frosting on the cake's exterior.
  • Savor the delicious flavors!
