Create a savory oyster stuffing with bacon, mushrooms, and onions, perfect for pairing with grilled turkey.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1 onion, sliced thin
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (4 ounce) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 (14 ounce) package seasoned stuffing cubes
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar oysters, drained and cut into thirds
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Fry the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crispy. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, and keep the delicious drippings in the skillet.
  • Combine the butter with the bacon drippings over medium-high heat until melted. Sauté the onion, garlic, and mushrooms in the flavorful mixture until the onion caramelizes, about 10 to 15 minutes. Deglaze the skillet by pouring in the wine, let it warm through, then take the skillet off the heat.
  • Combine the stuffing cubes and vegetable mixture in a large bowl. Pour in the chicken stock and gently fold in the oysters. Transfer the flavorful stuffing to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Bake until the top turns a beautiful golden brown, approximately 30 minutes in a preheated oven.
