Whip up this impressive Parmesan and bacon pasta that tastes gourmet without the effort. Perfect for a break from traditional tomato sauces.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package dry penne pasta
  • 1 pound bacon, coarsely chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Boil a large pot of seasoned water. Add penne and cook until al dente, about 11 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook bacon and onion in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until bacon is crisp and onion is starting to brown, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and drain excess grease into a small container.
  • After boiling the pasta, toss it in a generous amount of oil in a big bowl for a luxurious shine. Mix in the crispy bacon, onions, and 1 to 2 tablespoons of savory bacon grease. Sprinkle Parmesan generously over the pasta and blend until every bite is bursting with flavor. Drizzle more bacon grease for an extra boost of richness and taste.
