Easy and delicious baked apples with brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon, perfect with vanilla ice cream for a cozy fall dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 4 tart green apples
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your delicious ingredients.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Carefully core each apple from the top, leaving 1 ½ inches at the bottom using an apple corer, melon baller, or teaspoon.
  • In a small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and salt until evenly mixed. Place apples in an 8-inch square baking dish and fill each apple with 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar mixture.
  • Place a piece of butter on top of each apple, then fill the bottom of the dish with boiling water to a 1/4-inch depth. Cover with foil before cooking.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake without it until sugar caramelizes and apples are tender when pierced, 20 to 25 minutes longer. Serve while warm.
