Spicy baked wontons filled with chicken, jalapeno cream cheese, and cheesy goodness.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup cubed cooked chicken
  • 0.5 cup Borden® Cheddar and Monterey Jack Shreds
  • 0.5 cup jalapeno-flavored cream cheese, softened
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 24 square wonton wrappers
  • Salsa, for serving
  • Soy sauce for dipping
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a piping hot 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and prep a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Add the cooked chicken cubes to a food processor and pulse until finely crumbled. Incorporate the shredded Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese along with the jalapeno cream cheese. Pulse briefly to combine. If the mixture seems dry, gradually add more cream cheese, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  • Spoon a generous teaspoon of the chicken-cheese mixture onto a bottom corner of a wonton wrapper, leaving a small 1/2 inch border. Brush the edges with water and fold over to create a triangle shape. Press firmly to seal the edges. Repeat for remaining wontons.
  • Lay out the wontons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Give them a delicate mist of cooking spray on one side, then flip and do the same on the other side.
  • Bake until the edges turn golden brown, about 8-9 minutes in a preheated oven.
  • Enjoy these delicious tacos served warm with your choice of zesty salsa or savory soy sauce.
