Indulgent one-serving mac and cheese with rich Cheddar, stovetop to oven with a cheesy breadcrumb topping.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons uncooked macaroni pasta
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.125 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 0.33333334326744 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 dash hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and generously grease an oven-proof soup crock or 1-cup baking dish.
  • Boil lightly salted water in a small pot. Cook macaroni until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In the same pot, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add milk, flour, salt, onion powder, and pepper, whisking until smooth. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Lower the heat to low and whisk in 1/3 cup Cheddar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce.
  • Mix the cooked macaroni until it's well coated, then transfer it to the prepared dish. Top it off with a sprinkle of bread crumbs and 1 tablespoon of Cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the oven, uncovered, until the macaroni is heated through and the cheese is melted, approximately 10 minutes.
