Creamy baked mac and cheese with sour cream, cottage cheese, and Cheddar blend for a rich, comforting family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages mild Cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 0.75 cup sour cream
  • 0.75 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 large egg
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while you generously spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • 1. Boil a generous amount of salted water in a large pot. Cook elbow macaroni in the boiling water until al dente, about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain the pasta.
  • Set aside 1/2 cup of shredded mild Cheddar cheese.
  • Combine the rest of the mild Cheddar cheese, sharp Cheddar cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, and egg in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Mix in the cooked macaroni. Transfer the macaroni mixture into the baking dish and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of mild Cheddar cheese.
  • Place your dish in the preheated oven until the cheese has melted and is bubbling, which usually takes around 40 minutes. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
