Baked pizza sandwich with olives and salami

Elevate pizza night with a homemade gourmet pie!
Ingredients:
  • 6 pitted black olives
  • 2 pizza bases
  • 40.00 gm pesto sauce
  • 10 thin slices (about 40g) mild salami
  • 10 fresh basil leaves
  • 50g (1/2 cup) grated mozzarella
  • 2 bocconcini cheese, thinly sliced
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Extra pitted black olives, halved, to garnish
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to a piping hot 200°C.
  • Slice the olives. Spread pesto sauce evenly on both pizza bases. Place one pizza base on a baking tray and top with salami, basil, sliced olives, and mozzarella. Add the second pizza base, pesto-side down, and press to sandwich together. Top with bocconcini and sprinkle with pepper.
  • Place the pizza sandwich in a hot oven for approximately 10 minutes or until warm and the bocconcini has melted. Top with additional pitted olives, slice into wedges, and enjoy right away.
