Pizza-Baked Spaghetti

Savory pizza-inspired casserole with pork sausages, pepperoni, and spaghetti - a delicious dinner option.
Ingredients:
  • 12 oz uncooked spaghetti
  • 1 lb bulk Italian pork sausage
  • 2 jars (14 oz each) pizza sauce
  • 1 package (6 oz) diced pepperoni
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
  • Fresh basil, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish with cooking spray. Cook pasta in a Dutch oven according to package instructions for minimum cook time, then drain. Place cooked spaghetti back in the Dutch oven.
  • In a large skillet, sauté the sausage over medium heat until cooked through; drain any excess fat. In a separate Dutch oven, combine the cooked spaghetti, sausage, pizza sauce, and pepperoni.
  • Mix together creamy ricotta cheese, salty Parmesan cheese, and eggs in a medium bowl. Spread half of the spaghetti mixture in a baking dish. Add dollops of the ricotta mixture and spread it evenly over the top. Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top. Layer the remaining spaghetti mixture on top and finish with the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake without covering for 30 to 35 minutes until bubbling. Top with fresh basil before serving.
