Upgrade your leftover turkey with veggies and seasonings for a delicious and creamy turkey tetrazzini, perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (8 ounce) package white mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 cups cubed leftover cooked turkey
  • 1 cup peas
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package egg noodles, or more to taste
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter until bubbling. Add mushrooms, onion, and celery, cooking and stirring until tender, about 5-10 minutes. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir until everything is nicely coated.
  • Combine milk, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and nutmeg with the mushroom mixture. Cook until the cream cheese melts and the sauce is warmed through, stirring occasionally for 5 to 10 minutes. Then, stir in turkey and peas.
  • - Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • 1. Boil salted water in a large pot. Add egg noodles and cook for about 5 minutes until al dente. Drain and combine with turkey mix, then transfer to baking dish.
  • Mix Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, and melted butter until crumbly; then, sprinkle over the noodle mixture.
  • Bake in the oven until the top is golden brown and the sauce is bubbling, approximately 30 minutes.
