Transform leftover turkey into a crowd-pleasing dish that even turkey skeptics will love. Prepare ahead and freeze for convenience, then simply bake at 350°F for 1.5 hours.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages angel hair pasta
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.66666668653488 cup sliced onion
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pimento peppers
  • 1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 pound cooked turkey, sliced
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), then boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Add the pasta and cook for 4 minutes until al dente, then drain.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Sauté the onion until tender. Blend in the flour, then gradually add the milk to avoid lumps. Season with salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and mustard. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat, stir in 2/3 cup cheese and pimento until melted. Mix in undrained mushrooms into the cheese sauce.
  • Start by laying down a bed of pasta in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Add a layer of turkey followed by a rich cheese sauce. Repeat the layers for extra flavor. Finish by sprinkling the remaining 1/3 cup of cheese on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese on top is toasted.
