Italian-inspired baked ziti with mozzarella, cottage cheese, and ground beef in vodka sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package ziti pasta
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (28 ounce) jar vodka marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (16 ounce) package cottage cheese
  • 2.5 cups milk
  • 6 large eggs
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a large baking dish.
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Cook the ziti until al dente, about 9 to 11 minutes.
  • As the ziti cooks, sizzle ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce, oregano, and garlic powder, sizzle for another minute until fragrant. Drain the grease, then mix in the marinara sauce.
  • After draining the ziti, place it in the baking dish. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella over the ziti, followed by layers of cottage cheese, meat sauce, and the rest of the mozzarella. In a bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, salt, and pepper, then pour this mixture over the dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, until the dish is set and bubbling.
