Pan-fried pork chops with balsamic glaze - a flavorful weeknight meal.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (5 ounce) bone-in pork chops, 3/4-inch thick
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 0.25 cup good quality balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions:
  • Dry the pork chops with paper towels and generously season them with salt and pepper.
  • Combine butter and olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until melted and combined.
  • Heat butter and oil until they shimmer in a pan. Add pork chops and cook over medium heat until browned on one side, about 5 to 6 minutes. Flip the chops and continue cooking until no longer pink in the center and browned on the other side, about 3 to 4 minutes. Be cautious not to overcook to prevent the chops from turning dry and tough. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the center reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Cover the pork chops to keep them warm after removing from heat.
  • In a small saucepan, blend chicken broth, balsamic vinegar, and honey. Bring the glaze to a boil over medium-high heat and simmer until reduced to 1/2 cup, about 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Drizzle the pan-fried chops with a rich balsamic glaze and serve them warm.
