This dessert is a flavor explosion that's quick and simple to make.
Ingredients:
  • 40g unsalted butter
  • 59.40 gm brown sugar
  • 63.13 gm pure cream
  • 2 medium bananas, thinly sliced diagonally
  • 5 fresh dates, halved, pitted
  • 1 sheet frozen butter puff pastry, partially thawed
  • Double cream, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 220C (200C fan-forced) and prepare a 20cm-round cake pan by greasing it and lining the base with baking paper.
  • In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine butter, sugar, and cream. Stir and cook for 5 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Bring mixture to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Drizzle sauce at the bottom of the pan. Place banana and dates on top. Cut a 22cm round from pastry. Cover banana mixture with pastry, pressing it down between the pan's edge and the mixture. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until pastry is golden and puffed. Let it sit in the pan for 5 minutes. Gently flip the tart onto a serving plate. Enjoy with double cream.
