Banana, honey, and ginger souffles: a delightful fusion of flavors in individual servings.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon honey, or more to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened cocoa powder
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Prepare 4 1-cup souffle dishes by coating them with melted butter and then sprinkling the cups with sugar.
  • Separate the egg yolks and set aside. Place the 4 egg whites in the electric mixer's work bowl and beat with salt until soft peaks form.
  • Combine the 2 egg yolks, bananas, honey, vanilla extract, and ginger in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Transfer the banana mixture to a bowl. Add 1/4 of the beaten egg whites and fold gently using a rubber spatula or wire whisk. Ensure to incorporate by running the spatula through the center and sides of the bowl. Add the remaining egg whites, folding carefully to retain the air in the mixture.
  • Pour the souffle mixture into the dishes and bake in the preheated oven until souffles rise above the dishes and turn golden, approximately 15 minutes. Dust each souffle with sweetened cocoa powder for a finishing touch before serving.
