Indulgent chocolate cake layered with creamy whipped topping, gooey caramel, and crunchy nuts for a delectable treat. Delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ German Chocolate Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
  • 3 bananas
  • 1 cup butterscotch caramel topping
  • 6 tablespoons chopped pecans, toasted
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and generously grease or spray two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Follow the instructions on the box to prepare and bake the cake in two 9-inch rounds. Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes, then gently remove them from the pans to cooling racks. Let the cakes cool completely for about 30 minutes. To make it easier to handle the layers, refrigerate them for about 45 minutes. Remove the rounded top of one layer and slice each cake horizontally to create 4 layers, saving the untrimmed top layer for later.
  • In a chilled medium bowl, use an electric mixer on high speed to whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Place one cake layer bottom-side up on a serving plate. Spread 2/3 cup of the whipped cream over the layer, leaving a 1/4-inch border. Slice one banana and arrange the slices on top of the whipped cream, overlapping as needed. Drizzle 1/4 cup of butterscotch caramel topping over the banana slices, making sure to coat them evenly. Finally, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of pecans over the top. Enjoy!
  • Repeat layering process with the second and third layers. Place the reserved cake layer, rounded side up, on top. Frost the cake's top with the remaining whipped cream. Drizzle the remaining butterscotch caramel topping over the whipped cream. Swirl the caramel into the whipped cream using the tip of a knife.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for approximately 2 hours or until ready to enjoy. For optimal taste, serve the cake on the same day. Keep covered and store in the refrigerator.
