Tender pork shoulder cooked low and slow with onions and spices, perfect for tasty sandwiches.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 0.25 cup Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
  • Slice boneless pork shoulder into thin 1/4-inch pieces. For easier slicing, partially freeze the pork.
  • Combine in the slow cooker: sliced pork, onion, garlic, brown sugar, dry mustard, salt, pepper, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well, cover, and cook on Low for 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally, until meat is tender.
  • Cooking in a Dutch oven: Combine pork, onion, garlic, brown sugar, mustard, salt, pepper, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce in a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until pork is tender, stirring occasionally.
