Treat dad with a homemade BBQ sauce for effortless grilling joy.
Ingredients:
  • 9.20 gm olive oil
  • 1 small white onion, grated
  • 1 medium green apple, peeled, grated
  • 10.00 gm smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 23.40 gm wholegrain mustard
  • 48.80 gm worcestershire sauce
  • 44.40 gm tomato paste
  • 90.00 gm firmly packed brown sugar
  • 125.00 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 400g can diced tomatoes
  • 53.20 gm treacle
Instructions:
  • Start by heating oil in a large, deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and apple, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes until the onion has softened. Then, add paprika and garlic, continuing to cook and stir for another minute until fragrant.
  • Combine mustard, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, sugar, vinegar, tomato, treacle, and 1/2 cup cold water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low for 20 minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let it sit for 2 minutes before using.
  • Gently transfer the sauce into warm sterilized jars and seal tightly. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
