Quick and easy gingerbread cookies - no chilling required! Get those cookie cutters ready for instant baking fun!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 stick butter, cut into chunks
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 small egg
  • 1 tablespoon water, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and lightly grease 2 baking trays.
  • Combine flour, ginger, and baking soda in a large bowl. Add butter chunks and gently coat them with the flour mixture. Use your hands to mix until it resembles fine bread crumbs.
  • Combine white and brown sugars, maple syrup, egg, and oil in a small bowl, whisking until well combined. Transfer the mixture to the flour mixture and knead until a dough ball forms, adding water as necessary.
  • Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness, use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes, and transfer them onto the prepared cookie sheets. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
