Transform chicken wings with a spooky twist by marinating in soy sauce, sugar, and black food coloring to mimic bat wings for Halloween.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black food coloring paste
  • 2 pinches onion powder, or to taste
  • 2 pinches garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 pinch Cajun seasoning
  • 1 (4 pound) package chicken wings
Instructions:
  • Combine soy sauce, sugar, food coloring, onion powder, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning in a bowl until the paste dissolves. Open the bag of chicken wings without tearing it, then pour in the soy sauce mixture. Seal the bag and lay it flat in the refrigerator. Marinate for at least 2 hours, turning occasionally to ensure all pieces are coated evenly.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for optimal baking results.
  • Transfer the wings along with the marinade to a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Turn wings and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear. Check with an instant-read thermometer for a temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) near the bone.
  • Transfer the wings from the sauce to a labeled bowl or platter named 'Bat Wings.'
