Spooky Halloween appetizer: Chicken wings in black sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark soy sauce
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 cup honey hickory barbeque sauce
  • 1 drop black food coloring, or as needed
  • 4 pounds chicken wings
Instructions:
  • Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and barbeque sauce in a large glass bowl, whisk until sugar dissolves. Mix in black food coloring gradually until desired color is achieved. Use a fork to pierce wings generously, then add wings to the sauce.
  • Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Transfer the succulent chicken and flavorful sauce into a spacious baking dish.
  • Roast the chicken in the oven until the meat is no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, approximately 1 hour. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) by using an instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone in the thickest part of the thigh.
