Juicy steak with crispy potatoes and spinach - a delicious combo!
Ingredients:
  • 4 large desiree potatoes
  • Salt & freshly ground pepper
  • 18.20 gm olive oil, plus extra to grease
  • 4 beef scotch fillet steaks
  • 1 bunch English spinach, trimmed, washed
  • 80g butter, chopped
  • 1 lemon, zested
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it starts to sizzle. Stir in the garlic and zest, cooking for 1 minute until the garlic becomes fragrant and tender.
  • Preheat a grill or pan on high. Slice potatoes into 3mm rounds, sprinkle with salt, and toss in olive oil. Lightly brush steaks on both sides with additional oil and generously season with freshly ground pepper.
  • Grill the potatoes until golden and tender, about 2 minutes per side. Plate them and cover with foil to keep warm. Grill the steaks for 1-1 1/2 minutes per side for medium doneness. Plate the steaks and cover with foil to rest for 3-4 minutes.
  • Place the spinach on the barbeque plate and swiftly pour 1/4 cup (60ml) of water. Cook for around 30 seconds until wilted. Serve the potatoes onto plates and layer with the steak and spinach. Warm up the sauce if needed and drizzle on top of the spinach.
