Beef Pasta and Mushroom Soup

Impress your loved ones with a delicious and hearty soup made effortlessly using Hamburger Helper® dinner mix.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 6 cups hot water
  • 1 box Hamburger Helper™ beef pasta
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 medium cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 can (4 oz) mushroom pieces and stems, drained
  • 2 tablespoons dry red wine, if desired
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • In a 4-quart Dutch oven, sauté the beef and onion over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes until the beef is nicely browned; remember to drain off the excess fat.
  • Combine hot water, Sauce Mix, fragrant basil, savory salt, bold pepper, and aromatic garlic in a pot. Bring to a boil, stirring continuously until mixture thickens.
  • Lower the heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add uncooked pasta, mushrooms, and wine. Cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Finally, stir in the parsley.
