Impress your guests with these elegant Indian pastries for a special occasion!
Ingredients:
  • 9.20 gm vegetable oil
  • 1 small brown onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 2.50 gm ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 200g beef mince
  • 255.00 gm beef stock
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 125.00 ml frozen peas
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic in oil until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in cumin and coriander and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Increase heat to high, add mince, and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon for about 5 minutes. Pour in stock, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer uncovered until stock is absorbed, about 5 minutes. Stir in garam masala and peas, cooking for an additional minute until peas are heated through. Season with salt, then cool off the mixture before serving.
  • Prepare a large baking tray with baking paper. Cut out 8 rounds from the pastry using a 12cm round pastry cutter. Then cut each circle in half. Shape each half into a cone by folding and pinching the straight edge. Fill each cone with 2 heaped teaspoons of mince mixture, then seal the top. Place on the baking tray and continue with the remaining pastry halves and mince mixture.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C, then bake the samosas for 20 minutes until they are golden and puffed. Serve with raita on the side.
