Exciting new user-submitted recipe, not yet tested by our team.
Ingredients:
  • 500g beef rump steak, sliced
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • 131.25 gm soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp cracked pepper
  • 5 brown onions, sliced into rings
  • 125.00 gm water
  • 36.00 gm sugar (optional)
  • 172.50 gm cooking oil
Instructions:
  • Rinse steaks, then marinate with soy sauce, lemon juice, cracked pepper, and water in a non-reactive container. Cover and refrigerate overnight for maximum flavor infusion.
  • Take the steak out of the marinade and set the marinade aside.
  • Brown each steak in oil in a hot frying pan for about 10 minutes, ensuring a perfect golden crust. Let them rest before moving on.
  • Fry the onion rings in the same pan for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  • Pour the leftover marinade back into the pan with the meat. Bring it to a boil, then let it simmer for 15 minutes until the meat is tender. Sweeten with sugar to taste, if desired.
  • Enjoy this dish hot, alongside a side of fluffy rice.
