Satisfying stir-fry - fast and flavorful for a hassle-free meal.
Ingredients:
  • 300g beef rump steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 tsp five-spice powder
  • 5.00 gm cornflour
  • 150g rice noodles
  • 36.40 gm peanut oil
  • 1 lemongrass stem (white part only), thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 40.00 ml grated ginger
  • 6 shallots (spring onions), sliced on the diagonal
  • 1 leek, cut into thin strips
  • 1 carrot, cut into thin strips
  • 40.00 ml tamari sauce*
  • 60.00 ml shaohsing rice wine*
  • 60ml beef stock
Instructions:
  • Combine steak, spice, and cornflour in a bowl, ensuring they are well mixed. Quickly soak noodles in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and set aside. In a hot wok, add half of the peanut oil and once it begins to smoke, stir-fry the steak for 1 minute before removing from the wok.
  • In a hot pan, add the rest of the oil and quickly stir-fry lemongrass, garlic, ginger, shallots, leek, and carrot for 1 minute. Stir in tamari, rice wine, stock, noodles, and beef. Cook over high heat for another 1-2 minutes until everything is fully cooked and blended.
