Indulge guilt-free with flavorful low-fat beef triangles, paired perfectly with spicy chili sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 500g extra lean beef mince
  • 250.00 ml chopped fresh coriander leaves and stems
  • 50g (1/4 cup) drained canned sliced water chestnuts, finely chopped
  • 4 green shallots, trimmed, chopped
  • 2.00 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 250g pkt 8cm square egg pastry wonton wrappers
  • 13.80 gm vegetable oil
  • 42.00 gm soy sauce
  • 1 small fresh red chilli, deseeded, finely chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C and line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
  • Combine the beef, coriander, water chestnuts, green shallots, sesame oil, Chinese five spice, salt, and pepper in a bowl, ensuring all ingredients are well mixed.
  • Spoon a teaspoon of the mixture onto the middle of a wonton wrapper. Lightly brush the edges with water and fold it in half to create a triangle shape, securely sealing the edges. Transfer to a lined tray and continue with the rest of the beef mixture and wonton wrappers. Gently brush each triangle with a touch of vegetable oil.
  • Bake triangles in a preheated oven, rotating trays halfway through, until triangle points are lightly golden, 7-10 minutes.
  • While the beef triangles are cooking, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili in a small bowl. Serve the hot beef triangles with the flavorful dipping sauce.
