Crispy beer battered onion rings, a versatile batter for vegetables like zucchini, eggplant, and jalapeños.
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beer
  • 3 large onions, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Mix flour, egg, parsley, garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper in a shallow bowl. Slowly pour in beer while stirring until a thick batter forms. Adjust beer quantity for preferred batter thickness.
  • Heat a generous amount of oil (enough to reach a couple of inches in depth) in a sturdy frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, coat onions in batter, then fry, flipping once until golden brown on both sides. Place on paper towels to drain.
