Indulgent brownie bites dipped in beer batter and fried to perfection for a decadent twist on a classic treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) dark beer, chilled
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F if using a dark or nonstick pan). Lightly grease the bottom of an 8- or 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray. In a medium bowl, mix together the brownie mix, chocolate syrup pouch, water, 1/4 cup oil, and egg until fully combined. Spread the batter evenly into the pan.
  • Bake in an 8-inch pan for 38 to 40 minutes or in a 9-inch pan for 34 to 37 minutes, until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side comes out almost clean. Let it cool completely in the pan on a cooling rack for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows before serving.
  • Heat oil until it reaches 350°F in a 5-quart Dutch oven or heavy saucepan. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and beer until smooth. Dip brownies in the batter in small batches and fry in the hot oil for about 2 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with sea salt.
