Indulgent beer cheese fondue with sharp Cheddar, Swiss cheese, beer, and a kick of hot pepper sauce. Ideal for dunking French bread and veggies.
Ingredients:
  • 8 ounces shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, halved
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
  • 1 dash hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, mix together Cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, flour, salt, and black pepper.
  • Infuse the bottom and sides of the fondue pot with flavor by rubbing a cut garlic clove all around.
  • Simmer beer in the fondue pot over medium-low heat until it gently bubbles, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Slowly incorporate the cheese mixture into the beer, adding a little bit at a time, until the cheese is completely melted and combined, for about 10 to 15 minutes. Mix in the hot pepper sauce.
