Golden Bisquick® appetizers topped with zesty salsa-bean sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
  • 1/2 cup beer or apple sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup sesame or poppy seed
  • 1 loaf (8 oz. box) VELVEETA™ Original Cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup thick & chunky salsa
  • 1/4 cup from 1 can (16 oz) Old El Paso™ Traditional Refried Beans
Instructions:
  • Prepare your cookie sheets by lining them with waxed paper. In a medium bowl, combine Bisquick mix, Cheddar cheese, and beer until you have a soft dough, then beat vigorously 20 times. Roll the dough on a surface dusted with Bisquick mix to coat it. Form the dough into a ball and knead it 5 times.
  • Shape dough into a 16x10-inch rectangle. Cut into 2-inch squares, then slice diagonally in half. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Separate triangles and arrange on a baking sheet. Freeze until firm for about 1 hour, then transfer to an airtight container and freeze for up to 1 month.
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F and lightly coat large cookie sheets with cooking spray. Arrange the triangles on the sheets and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
  • In a 1 1/2-quart saucepan, gently heat cheese product, salsa, and beans until cheese is melted and sauce is heated through, stirring occasionally. Serve with triangles.
