Shrimp cooked in beer, onions, and butter - a delicious family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 5 pounds large shrimp in shell (21 to 25 per lb), peeled and deveined
  • 3 (12 fluid ounce) bottles beer
Instructions:
  • In a large pot over medium-high heat, melt the butter and sauté the onion until transparent, about 5 minutes. Add salt and shrimp, then pour in the beer. Simmer until the shrimp turn pink. Turn off the heat and let the shrimp sit for at least 30 minutes. Serve warm or refrigerate and reheat before serving.
