Delicious Belgian cookies made using a krumkake iron over an open flame.
Ingredients:
  • 5 pounds all-purpose flour
  • 4.5 cups brown sugar
  • 12 large eggs
  • 2 cups butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons whiskey
Instructions:
  • Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Mix in vanilla, a pinch of salt, and a splash of whiskey for a rich and decadent flavor.
  • Gradually incorporate flour into the mixture, mixing by hand after each addition.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Grease and heat the cookie iron on medium heat. Shape 1 tablespoon of dough into a small cigar shape. Place on the iron, press, and cook until golden on each side for about 30 seconds. Remove and cool before serving.
