Elevate your cheesecake with a chocolate cookie crust, zesty orange peel, and fresh berries for a heavenly dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups chocolate wafer cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 4 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups berries
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F. Combine cookie crumbs with melted butter and press onto the bottom and slightly up the sides of a 9x3 inch ungreased springform pan to create a sealed crust.
  • Combine cream cheese, 2/3 cup sugar, sour cream, and orange peel in a food processor. Blend until smooth. Mix in eggs until well combined. Spread the mixture over the crust.
  • Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes until the center is set. Allow to cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Use a metal spatula to loosen the sides of the cheesecake, then remove the pan. Refrigerate uncovered for 3 hours, then cover and refrigerate for at least an additional 4 hours.
  • Combine 1/2 cup of tangy sour cream and 2 tablespoons of sugar; evenly spread over the luscious cheesecake, then top with fresh berries.
