Serve chilled Italian custard topped with fresh berries or fruit sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 lemon
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3.5 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 0.75 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1.5 cups fresh raspberries
Instructions:
  • Cut the zest of 1/4 lemon into long strips and place them in a saucepan with cream and confectioners' sugar. Simmer over medium heat, then let it steep for 10 minutes.
  • Combine creamy milk with delicate gelatin in a charming small bowl, allowing them to mingle for a cozy 5 minutes.
  • Heat the cream mixture until hot, then take it off the heat. Mix in the gelatin mixture and vanilla extract. Discard the lemon rind. Divide the mixture into 8 ramekins and chill until firm, approximately 1 to 2 hours.
  • Arrange a beautiful display of strawberry slices and raspberries on top of each custard before serving.
