Indulge in a savory breakfast casserole with sausage, crescent rolls, eggs, and gooey Cheddar cheese for a delightful holiday or weekend brunch.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 (1 pound) ground sausage roll
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water
  • 12 eggs, beaten
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Lay out the crescent roll dough in the prepared baking dish, making sure to cover the entire inside of the dish. Use a fork to prick the dough all over.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for around 5 minutes until just beginning to set.
  • Once the crust is in the oven, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and water; cook and stir until the sausage is browned and crumbly, which should take around 5 to 7 minutes. Remember to drain and discard any grease before proceeding.
  • Prepare another large skillet by spraying it with cooking spray and heating it over medium heat. Combine eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then pour the mixture into the hot skillet and cook until the eggs are fully set, which should take about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Take the pan off the heat and gently scramble the eggs with a wooden spoon. Evenly distribute the scrambled eggs over the crescent roll dough, layer on the sausage, and sprinkle with Cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the oven until the crust is golden brown and the casserole is heated through, approximately 25 minutes.
