"Simple, family-friendly dessert: Caramel dipped apples inspired by our apple farm visit."
Ingredients:
  • 5 large Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, and water in a bowl; transfer to an 8x8 inch pan. In a separate bowl, blend flour, brown sugar, oats, and butter; spread evenly over apples.
  • In a heavy saucepan over low heat, gently melt the caramels with the evaporated milk until smooth. Drizzle the luscious caramel sauce over the crumble.
  • Bake in a hot oven for around 45 minutes until the apple mixture is bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
